Hong Kong -- the fragrance harbour
The name "Hong Kong" (Frangrance Harbour) first appeared in the Ming Dynasty(1573 to 1620 A.D.). Some prople believe that this name was used mainly because people who lived around Aberdeen grew trees that produced fragrance. When the British landed in Hong Kong, they simply named the whole island "Hong Kong" (Fragrance Harbour).
