The answer should be

F=(g-1)/g
Fg = g-1
1 = g - Fg
1 = g (1-F)
g = 1/(1-F)

What do you mean?
You mean F=g-1/g or F=(g-1)/g?

Situation 1
F=g-1/g
F=(g^2-1)/g
Fg=g^2-1
g^2-Fg-1=0
g=[F士(F^2+4)^(1/2)]/2

Situation 2:
F=(g-1)/g
F=1-1/g
F-1=-1/g
1-F=1/g
g=1/(1-F)

Actually what do you mean?

Possibility 1:

F = (g-1)/g
Fg = g-1
g(F-1) = -1

Therefore g = -1/(F-1)
g = 1/(1-F)

Do you mean this?

If no, do you mean F=g-1/g

Fg = g^2 -1
g^2-Fg-1 = 0

If you want to solve g, you must use quadratic equation

F=g-1/g
Fg = g-1
1 = g-Fg
1 = g (1-F)
g = 1/(1-F)
