my mom inspires me. i miss her every single day of my life. she passed from cancer 2 years ago at the young age of 58. she never let the illness get her down which is truly amazing to me, if you've ever known anybody who had cancer. most of her life was very hard.. most prominent reason being was because her heart was full of unconditional love and compassion, no matter who walked all over her, and how many times she'd always forgive. she never wanted anything from anybody either. she was an art teacher. it's amazing to me how down to earth and non-judgemental she was about everyone, or at least she just didn't catagorize harshly at all like some people do..never met anyone quite like her and i'm not just saying that cuz she was my mother. wish i had more time as a son/best friend to her..
My mother - she really loved people and they loved her back. That is a special gift - to actually love people in reality and not in the abstract.
My father - he really was the most honest person I ever knew. He could not bear hypocrisy and liars. Also, he loved to help the underdog - he was always giving money to different charities to help all kinds of people.
I believe that their values are something I would like to live up to, but I have not succeeded as completely and fully as I should - so I still have some work to do on myself and there is always room for self-improvement.
Poetry. Good writing. Progressive viewpoints shared by others. The spirit prevailing over adversity. The sound and sight of the ocean. silence. truth. Inspiration can be experienced through many things and people. But I have found the most potent source of inspiration through the power of love. Whether expressed and shared through a famous author, poet, a child, or a friend.
Good people who have all sorts of things happen to them, and they smile, take it, fight back if they must, and still smile and say hi to me.....they are not overwhelmed by life, and still pay their bills and take time to love GOD, their family and it shows!
These are the ones who took time out of their busy lives to share a lunch, dinner or just time with me!..and I've lived all over the world!

my cousin, she's my role model. She's 21 and I'm 14. She pretty much my sister and more of a mom to me than my real mom. She gives me hope. At my age people either treat you like a little kid, or an adult. Its nice to just rest my head on her shoulder and be called "Hun" She's always there for me no matter what and she makes all the bad things in my life go away, even if its just for a day. I've woken up at 7:30 am on a summer Saturday to go grocery shopping with her for a half hour....i love her more than anything. She'll always be a teenager to me and I'm not ashamed to ask her dumb questions about life. She always knows what to say, she always has an answer. She doesn't make me feel dumb, she doesn't expect anything from me and I can tell her ANYTHING. We could drive away in her car forever and be the happiest broken family of all time.
Some nice quotes inspire me, for example:
1. To err is human, to forgive divine. (Alexander Pope)
2. All happiness is in the mind. (English proverb)
3. Nothing in the world is stronger than gentleness. (Anon.)
4. All intellectual improvement arises from leisure, all leisure arises from one working for another. (Samuel Johnson)
5. If you can't explain it, it's worthless to humanity. (Albert Einstein) etc.
Probably Einstein is one of mine, both because of his ability to create new physical theory of exceptional clarity and significance, and for his willingness to venture into the realms of humane action. It was he who said, "the most incomprehensible thing about nature is that it is comprehensible."
a sunrise, a story of personal courage, a song that brings back memories, many things can inspire me......
