use actviated carbon la......but....if you want to analyze the carbon........use silica gel.....but if you want to separate carbon soat from some powder insoluble in solvent......use some liquid fill into it and use centrifuge.....i hope i can answer your question.

It depends on the pore size. Physical method is perfered, try membrane filter of micro or nanometer pore size.
