A man is 28 years older than his son ; in 5 years' time he will be 5 times as old as his son. Find his present age.

let x be the age of the manthen x -28 is the age of his son
(x + 5 ) = 5 [ ( x - 28 ) + 5 ]
x + 5 = 5x - 115
- 4x = - 120
x = 40
Hence, his present age is 40.

(x+5)/(x-28+5)=5
x=30
x=30
