(a) iron(s) + dilute sulphuric acid(aq) → iron sulphate(s) + hydrogen(g)
During the piece of iron reacts with dilute sulphuric acid in a test tube, it gives out gas bubbles.
(b) potassium(s) + water(l) → potassium hydroxide(s) + hydrogen(g)
During the piece of iron reacts with water, it gives out hissing sound.
(c) iron(s) + oxygen(g) → iron(II, III) oxide
After the iron powder is burnt in a Bunsen flame, it is dull in colour.
