請千萬要記得，當我們將said,”．．．”轉做said that......時，整句句子的時態要一致；所以我們千萬不可以說The doctor said that Mr. Rodriguez, he will be time，因為前面用said（過去時態），後面也要用過去時態(he would be time)，有了這個認識後，我們改變句子就容易得多了。
轉句：
The doctor said to Mr. Rodriguez that Mr.Rodriguez himself would be in time.
(本來可以用......that he would be in time，但有少許混淆，究竟he是指the doctor或Mr.Rodriguez)
