I personally think for Baroque, Vivaldi is the best.For classical period, Haydn is the best.For romantic poeriod,Elgar,Schumann and Mendelssohn is the best. For 20th century, Elgar and Mahler is the best.Besides, Paganini also had 6 great violin concertos.

I personally think Violin Concertos are the best pieces.
