LET AGE OF GIRL IS X ; AGE OF MOTHER IS YTHEN X + Y = 62
X - 2 = Y/2
2X - 4 = Y
Therefore
X + (2X-4) = 62
3X - 4 = 62
3X = 66
X = 22
Y = 40
Age of girl is 22 & age of mother is 40

X+(1/2)X+2=62
2X+X=120
3X=120
X=40
The age of the mother is 40 years old.
The age of the girl=(1/2)40+2
=22
The age of the girl is 22 years old.

The age of the mother is 40 years old.

x+(x/2+2)=62
x+x/2+2=62
3x/2+2=62
3x/2=60
x=60(2/3)
x=40
∴the mother is 40 years old and the girl is 22 years old

3x/2+2=62
3x/2=60
x=60(2/3)
x=40
