The song is called Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. It is a movement from Bach’s cantata no 147, “Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben” (which means Heart and Mouth and Deed and Life).
It was written in Leipzig for the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and was first performed on 2 July 1723.
