Why do baseball players spit all the time?

tradition. like when they used to chew tabacco and then gum and now sunf seeds. i do it and dont even play.

it gives them something else to do besides scratch their balls

because they dip!

They think spitting like slobs is acceptable. Wrong! My boys look up to them, What a disgusting example to set for children. They get top pay and provide low life example. They should show pride in the game, and stop spitting.
