為什麼樹會落葉?

因為樹木為了不需要太多養份去維持樹葉的生長,因而落葉 。
天冷時通常是冬天，冬天天氣乾燥樹木因為要減少水份流失所以要落葉。
可惜光合作用是依靠著太陽的能量生存著，而光合作用 (photosynthesis) 是唯一能捕捉此能量的重要生物途徑。光合作用 “photosynthesis” 的字面意義為 “用光合成”，光合作用生物利用太陽能合成有機物，貯存於分子中的能量將用來趨動植物細胞中的各項工作，同時這些能量也可被各種不同的生物所利用。
由於天氣轉冷，因而進行光合作用是不恰當!

Leaves fall because it is a life cycle.
When the leaves fall, evaporation through leaves reduce. That can help the trees keep the moisture in the dry season.

Leaves turn brownish because no more nutrients are sent to them. They can't perform the normal function of transforming the sunlight into nutrients through photosynthesis anymore.
