有什麼不同?
4X or 8X means the writing speed is at 4X or 8X only. 1-8X means the speed could be 1X, 2X, 4X, 6X or 8X normally. It depends on the factory.
DVD上的speed和電腦上DVD機的speed有何關係?
If your DVD writer rated at 16X max., that means you could write at 16X speed if your disc capable to 16X. Otherwise, it could only write up to the max. speed of the disc specified. E.g. The disc speed marked 8X, your writing speed could be 8X max. only. Please note that if you use the cheap disc, you may not write on it or you need to slow down the speed.

Picture is saved as data on the disc, so, both DVD-R or DVD+R are the same. FYI, DVD-R could save 6M more than DVD+R. If you want to save as video and play on domestic player, DVD-R should be your choice. You may use Mitsubishi disc as its' quality is fair.
DVD+RW / DVD-RW are the rewritable disc for DVD+R and DVD-R. You may consider they are similar to CD-RW.
P.S In case you could not write on the disc, you may update the DVD writer's firmware. You could find the latest firmware in their website.

DVD碟上的X, 是代表DVD碟能支援最快燒錄的速度~! 機和碟都係一樣, 有速度分別~! 其實, 要買DVD+-R/RW機, 有4樣要留意~! 1.是品牌. 2.是支援邊種碟和燒碟速度. 3.有多小MB緩衝(越多越好)~! 4.有那種軟件付送? 最好有NERO 6或以上版本, 一些DVD播放器及編輯軟件付送最好~! 還有, 一定要買盒裝, 記得要拿收據和保養卡, 仲要店舖在收據和保養卡上蓋章~! 你的CD機是16X, 但現在燒CD-R速度是52X~!
