Usually depends on how many days/weeks notification required from your boss or stated in your employment agreement.
Usually for most jobs, it's either 2 weeks or 1 month notice, which then if you Oct 9 遞信, if it is 2 weeks notice, then the last day is Oct 20; if it is 1 month notice, then the last day is Nov 8.
Sometimes, you may also state on your resignation letter the suggestion date as your last day of employment.
