Nowadays, TV, video, computer games are supposed to becoming more popular than reading. Despite the increasing competition from technological entertainments, many people still spend their leisure time in reading. This is because reading have many advantages.

Firstly, there are books of Books can be divided into several groups. Acording to from we know novel, poem, fairytale, historical novel, love story, romance, sci-fi, thiller and others. This wide range of topics suits everyone: from children to elders, and from men and women. This is the perfect leisure activity for all people.

Secondly, other forms of entertainment such as watching TV, is to receive of information without our own point of views, which will eventually hinder the development of ourselves. For this reason I prefer reading. When we read, we can stop and think about the contents in the books and judge whether it is right or wrong. This will stimulate our mind development.

Last but not least, reading is an individul activity, you can start your reading almost anytime and anywhere, you can read inside your bed, or you can read in the park, you can decide the time, place and length of your reading session and will cause no disturbance to others. Yet reading could be an activity that you can share with your friends, you can recommend the books you have read to them.

All in all, reading is very advantageous, so I will say why not read more?
