The good things of media freedom are:
Better and faster flow of information and ideas
More perspectives on the same issue, e,g views of different columnists
A symbol of an open and democratic government

The bad things of privacy rights:
Interfere with the spread of knowledge
Impede the increase in the popularity of particular works
