52350 Professional Certificate in Tourism and Hotel Management
INTRODUCTION
This programme aims to provide an introductory training to those who are working or interested in pursuing a career in the tourism and hospitality industry. Students completing this programme may progress to “62350 Professional Diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management”.

Assessment
The course assessment is divided into two parts: Continuous Assessment (in the form of assignments, case study and presentation, test etc.) and Examination.
Students are required to have an overall pass in each course assessment of 52354 and 52353. The passing mark is 50%.
Students are required to pass both C.A. and Examination of 54555 and 54651. The passing mark is 50%.
Students are required to fulfill an attendance requirement of 70%.
Award
A " Professional Certificate in Tourism and Hotel Management" will be issued by LiPACE to those who have successfully completed the programme.

Admission Policy
In line with the "open" nature of the University, there are no formal academic entry requirements for this programme and it is open to everyone. However, applicants will be strongly advised that they may find the programme difficult if they do not have a diploma or higher diploma from a recognized tertiary education institution.
Exemption Policy
Exemption may be granted for individual courses if an applicant has successfully completed a course of comparable content and standard at a recognized tertiary institution or through a professional examination. The maximum exemption to be granted is 2 courses.
Applicants need to provide supportive evidence demonstrating the comparability in content and level in their applications for exemption, e.g., copies of certificate of academic or professional qualification.
A non-refundable application fee of $300 per course is charged.

A completed Enrollment Form in prospectus or obtainable from LiPACE website, and
A crossed cheque payable to "The Open University of Hong Kong ".
Photocopies of your academic / professional qualifications for the exemption application.
Applications should be submitted at least 3 weeks before the course commencement.
Early-Bird Discount (10%): Enrollment before the 1st day of the preceding month of the course commencement.
