In a big company, usually called Corporation, there is a Board of Director. These directors usually make decision on the direction of the company, including hiring important, high level management staffs, like CEO, COO, CFO, etc.

The CEO hired is the HIGHEST ranking working to lead the company to follow the direction set by the Board of Directors, sometimes, the CEO would be one of the directors too. Let me know if you have further questions.

There is no difference between CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and director. They are elected by shareholders for the management of the corporation. Having same job duties and legal obligations. However, the title of CEO is mostly used in the North Amercian Corporations.

CEO IS MANAGEMENT JOB, MANGE IS COMPANY WORKER, CONTROL IS WHOLE COMPANY OPERATION.

DIRECTOR IS DESIGN THE COMPANY DIRECTION, WHICH WAY TO BE GO BY THE COMPANY.

ALMOST THE BOTH OF THIS TITLES ALSO STAND FOR ONE MAN TO DO.
