Light: light can be behave as waves or particle. So far, no one can ever define the meaning of light. Light is an electromagnetic waves therefore it travels at the speed of approximately 3.0*10^8m/s. However, light can also behave like a particle, if not, we cannot see the sun; because there is no substance "medium" in the universe, in order for waves to act, it must have medium.
The experiment can prove the light is wave is by double-slit interference. Particles cannot interfernce, but waves can. In double-slit interference, it shows light behaves as waves. The experiment that shows the light is particle is by photoelectric effect, The photoelectric effect. Incoming EM radiation depicted as flying off from a substance. We can prove a matter as particle by photoelectric effect.
The color of light is base on the wavelength and frequency of electromagnetic waves, as the wavelength increase, the frequency decrease. The lower frequency, the color will tends to red, the higher frequency, the color will tends to violet. The color that are lists according to the increase of frequency are red, orange, yellow, blue, indigo and violet.
Light can be polarize, this means is when to polarizer are parallel, the light can pass through; if the polarizer are perpendicular, the light will block
Light will keep going in a straight line until it hits a boundry, when the light is hit the boundry, the light itself will reflect. Thus, it cause reflection. The Law of Reflection tell us that the angle of incidence equal to the angle of reflection.
Light can refract when the light enter to another medium, when a light refract, it always that the blue color refract more than red color. When the medium of substance increase, the light waves, the light speed, and the sine of angle of refraction will decrease. This is called the Snell's Laws.
