阿sir出咗條maths要交, 唔該大家幫下忙啦~~

Miss Chan deposits $500 into an annuity every quarter. The account earns quarterly interest at 14% p.a. If these deposits continue for 45 years:

a) How much money was deposited into the account?
b) What is the future value of this account?
c) What is the total interest earned?

a)$500, as the question stated.
b) future value = P x ( 1 + r )^t
= $500 x ( 1 + 14%/4) ^ (45 x 4) <-- 14%/4 because the rate is annual rate, but it is compounded quarterly, so as the t is 45 x 4
= $244,474.2
c) total interest = (b) - (a)
= 243,974.2

deposit for every year: $500 * 4 = $2000
deposit for 45 years: $2000 * 45 = $90000#

b.
amount for the end of 45 years: $90000 * ( 1 + 14%/4 ) ^ ( 45 * 4 )
= $90000 * ( 1.035 ) ^ 180
= $44005349.25#

c.
Total interest earned: $44005349.25 - $90000 = 43915349.25#
