Breaking Wave 碎波 當波浪由深海傳播至淺海時由於水深變淺波速變慢，而波長變短波高增高，因此波形銳度漸增。在近案附近波形達到安定界限或波峰水分子流速等於波速時，波型無法保持向前頃倒成為碎波（Breaker, Breaking wave）深海中波浪亦會由於波型銳度過大失去其對稱性而發生碎波。
