1) the perimeter of the triangle ABC: (x-1)cm + 3cm + (x+3)cm= (x - 1 + 3 + x +3) cm
= (2x - 5) cm
2) the perimeter of the triangle ABC is 13cm
so (x-1)cm + 3cm + (x+3)cm = 13 cm
therefore 2x - 5 = 13
2x = 18
x = 9
