1 = (x ^ 10) = [(x ^ 5) ^ 2](x ^ 5) = +1 or -1
so, x = +1 or -1

[(x ^ 10) - 1] is not equal to {[{x ^ 8) ^ 2] - (1 ^ 2)}it is equal to {[(x ^ 5) ^ 2] - (1 ^ 2)}, which is my answer
