1)how many integers in the set of all integers from
1 to 100, inclusive, are not the square pf an an integer?

2)if the sum of the consecutive integers form -22
to x, inclusive 72, what is the value of x?

3)when 8 is divided by 12 ,the remainder is ???

1)the square of integers from 1 to 100 are 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81 and 100
So, the total is 10(nos.)
Thus, the reminders are not the square of an integer from 1 to 100
The answer is 100-10=90(nos.)

2) the equation required: (1+x)x/2 - (1+22)22/2 = 72
(1+x)x = 650
x^2+x-650 = 0
(x-25)(x+26) = 0
x= 25 or x= -26 (rejected as if x= -26, the sum from -22 to -26 must not be positive

so x = 25

3) 12/8
=1...4
so the quotient is 1 and the reminder is 4
