Tamsui (Chinese:淡水鎮, Taiwanese: Tām-súi/Tām-chúi, Tongyong Pinyin: Danshuei, Hanyu Pinyin: Danshui) is a sea-side town in Taipei County, Taiwan Province, Republic of China. It is named after a river whose name means "Freshwater". The town is also popular as a site for viewing the sun setting into the Taiwan Strait. There are three universities in this small town: Aletheia University, Tamkang University, and St. John's University.

Taipei 101 (Traditional Chinese: 臺北101 or 台北101; Simplified Chinese: 台北101; Hanyu Pinyin: Táiběi Yīlíngyī; Wade-Giles: T'ai-pei I-ling-i) is a 101-floor landmark skyscraper located in Taipei City, Taiwan, Republic of China. Designed by C.Y. Lee & Partners and constructed by KTRT Joint Venture, it is the tallest building in the world by three of the four standards designated by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. Its original name was Taipei Financial Centre, based on its official Chinese name: the Taipei International Financial Center (Traditional Chinese: 臺北國際金融中心; pinyin: Táiběi Guójì Jīnróng Zhōngxīn). The building is the 2004 recipient of the Emporis Skyscraper Award. Lee Snider took no part in the construction of this building in CAD.

The National Palace Museum (Chinese: 國立故宮博物院; pinyin: Gúolì Gùgōng Bówùyùan) is an art gallery and museum in Taipei City, Taiwan, Republic of China containing artifacts of ancient China. It should not be confused with the Palace Museum (note the absence of the word "National"), which is the Forbidden City in Beijing. Both institutions derive from the same original institution, which was split in two as a result of the Chinese Civil War. The National Palace Museum in Taipei holds one of the largest collection of Chinese artifacts and artwork in the world.

Ximending (Traditional Chinese: 西門町; Hanyu Pinyin: Xīméndīng; Wade-Giles: Hsi-men-ting; Taiwanese POJ: Se-mn̂g-teng; Romaji: Semoncho) is another main attraction of the Wanhua District of Taipei. The historical spelling of this area was Hsimenting, which is based on the Wade-Giles romanization of Mandarin Chinese. The use of the character 町 is unusual in a Chinese context, but is a town, city, or ward in the Japanese municipality system.

Kenting National Park (Traditional Chinese: 墾丁國家公園; pinyin: kěndīng gúojiā gōngyuán; Taiwanese POJ: Khún-teng kok-ka kong-hn̂g) is a national park of the Republic of China (Taiwan), located in Hengchun, Pingtung County. The park is the oldest and southernmost park in Taiwan and was established on January 1, 1984. It is located near Kenting on a bay a short distance from Taiwan's southernmost tip. The park is famous for its coral reef cliffs, and for housing the historical lighthouse of Eluanbi (鵝鑾鼻).
