The manager of a factory proposes to increase the salaries of the workers by 10% next year and then a further 20% the following year. The workers give a counter proposal. They want their salaries to increase by 20% next year and then by 10% the following year. If you were the manager, would you accept the counter proposal? Give reasons.

Assume now the salaries of the workers is xthen for plan 1
the salaries of each worker after 2 years are
x*1.1*1.2=1.32x
for plan 2
the salaries of each worker after 2 years are
x*1.2*1.1=1.32x
they are the same
However, if I were the manager, I would not accept the counter proposal. Because if I accept plan 1, then the money expense on the salaries inthe next year will be less than plan 2, I can use the extra money to invest on the other plans
