原料說明 苯氧基乙醇溶於的水溶液，與甘油、丙二醇，乙醇，乙醚、苯混溶。水在苯氧基乙醇中的溶解度為9.3g/100ml。苯氧基乙醇是很好的溶劑和防腐劑，被用作防腐劑體系的複配溶劑。

苯氧基乙醇添加至各類配方中，不會引起穩定性的改變，但對產品的粘度影響較大。對於含苯氧基乙醇質量分數為1%的各類體系，如香波和液體皂類粘度只有不含苯氧基乙醇對比樣品64%左右，所以不適合洗劑使用，O/W乳液約只有21%；也不適合乳液使用，對於護髮潤絲粘度會增加，約為對比樣品2.34倍，W/O膏霜則約為1.12倍。所以適合護髮潤絲陽離子使用及油包水系列產品，苯氧基乙醇不僅是防腐劑，也有一定乳化作用，對配方是有影響的，使用時應多加注意。

Phenoxyethanol is an organic chemical compound often used in dermatological products such as skin creams. It is a bactericide, often used in place of sodium azide in biological buffers as 2-phenoxyethanol is less toxic and non-reactive with copper and lead.
