Life in secondary schools in the United States(US) and Hong Kong have many differencces. One of the most notable difference is the lack of uniform requirement for students of US schools, where uniform are usually required among Hong Kong students. This is partly due to the United State's attitude towards the value of freedom of choice and expression. Because of the freedon of clothing in the United State schools, many students take fashion seriously.
Another notable difference is the method of traveling to school. In Hong Kong, students going to school usually go by public transportation and walking. Although these methods are also used in the United States by many students in urban areas, students in more rural areas travel by much broader means. Some of the transportation methods include, school bus riding, skateboarding, rollerblading, walking, bicycle riding, and for older students, driving.
