14. A box contains 24 pieces of nut chocolate and milk chocolate.If a piece of chocolate is drawn at random, the probability of getting a piece of nut chocolate is 3/8
(a) how many pieces of nut chocolate are there in the box?
(b)Peter puts extra pieces of nut chocolate in the box and the probability of drawing a piece of nut chocolate becomes 1/2.How many extra pieces of nut chocolate did he put into the box?

a) 24 * 3/8 = 9
Therefore there are 9 pieces of nut chocolate in the box.

b) (24 + x) * 1/2 = 9 + x
24 + x = 18 + 2x
x = 6
Therefore he put 6 extra pieces of nut chocolate into the box.
