a) 24 * 3/8 = 9Therefore there are 9 pieces of nut chocolate in the box.
b) (24 + x) * 1/2 = 9 + x
24 + x = 18 + 2x
x = 6
Therefore he put 6 extra pieces of nut chocolate into the box.
