A bullet hits an apple at a as red speed of 500 m/s,
and he percentage error is 1 %.
Find the lower limit and the upper limit of the actual speed of the bullet.

最大速度 = 500(1+1%) = 505ms-1
最小速度 = 500(1-1%) = 495ms-1

∵maximum percentage error = maximum absolute error / measured value×100%
∴maximum absolute error = measured value×maximum absolute error

The maximum absolute error
=500×1 %
=5 m/s

upper limit = 500+ 5 = 505m/s
lower limit = 500﹣5 = 495m/s

∴the actual speed of the bullet is between 495m/s and 505m/s

lower limit = 下限
