Maths! Help me...monday is the test!

Here is the question:

The sum of two numbers is 64. The smaller number is three-fifths of the larger number. Find the larger number.
I know the answer is 40. But why???

Can anyone tell me why? You can explain in Chinese. Pls help me..Help me.....

兩個數的和是64﹐小數是大數的3/5﹐找大數
設大數是x﹐則小數是(3/5)x
x+(3/5)x=64
(8/5)x=64
x=40
所以大數是40

Let the larger number be y.
(3/5)y+y=64
(1+3/5)y=64
y=64/(1+3/5)
y=64/(8/5)
y=64(5/8)
y=40
So the larger number is 40.
