The first couple years and ESPECIALLY the first 6 months can be very stressful. Try to make friends and realize you aren't alone and that a lot of folks have felt the way you do.
This is the first time likly you have been "on your own" and likely never gave it a thought until you arrived. I have known men from Vietnam going to college who couldn't stand the feelings I suspect you may.
By the time you are an upper classman getting out is what its all about and hopefully by then the angst will be part of your later celebration.
Good Luck!

Just pay attention in class, do all your homework, ask your professor for help during the office hours if you don't understand the material during lecture and study a lot.

Take it a step at a time, it gets easier after a while, once you get use to your surroundings and everything else....and lots of coffee. Good luck

well your on the right track i think the best way is to ask questions if you are unsure. one of the best things about college is the people all around you, most are well eductaed and willing to help they may not all have the right answers but thet have an opinion and will go out of their way to help. as for the social aspect to much of a good thing is just that, too much. enjoy yourself but dont let it runover you because it will try. but most of all dont worry to much it will all be over before you know it

Do not overload yourself with too many classes. Only take what you can handle. Study well (but not so much that you get burned out) and resist the urge to party too much, which will only sap your energy.

Make friends that are interested in doing well in school. Get study buddies. If you're lucky enough to not have to work that helps, too, since a job can distract you too much. If you do have to work, get a job that relates to your area of study.

Try to choose a major that you actually like so you will be more motivated.

Exercise and stay healthy. Everything in moderation.

Good luck!

buy studying hard and not craming with your studies. Know your limits, responsibilities and expectations. Talk to a guidance couselor and your parents or older siblings for help. I did.
