does anybody know a place to go swimming in brooklyn..that isn't too expensive? or better yet free?

Call the Parks Department. They have several indoor pools that are free throughout the 5 boroughs. I'm not sure about Brooklyn; I do know about the Bronx (St. Mary's Center, 145th St & St. Ann's Ave) (or the 58th Street Pool somewhere in Manhattan, near Broadway or so).

parks and recreation....it's super cheap - the pool might be dirty though.
