It is incredibly difficult to get into medical school, but not impossible. If you're in high school right now you need to focus on getting into the best undergraduate university that you possibly can. Get good grades in all your classes, but don't neglect extracurricular activities because universities look for those as well.

Once you reach college, you really want to shoot for as many A's as possible. Try for a 3.8 at least. Also, an excellent MCAT score is a must, and volunteer and extracurricular activies can definitely give you a competitive edge. Many of my friends found an internship program they could do with a local hospital when they were still undergrads.

You will have to work incredibly hard. It's a difficult profession and you must be prepared to work in it.

Honestly, you might just consider going in Undecided, and then declaring your major later. Once you're in a school, they don't care, but if you try to go in as a doctor now, you're going to need a 3.5 at least, if not more based on what high school you go to. A high school's reputation can make the difference between getting into a college or not, because some schools are harder to get good grades in than others. Just focus on taking a rigorous course load (but not too rigorous), and making yourself stand out with good skills in science, math, and English.
No matter what you decide to do, you MUST be able to write, so make sure that you can write well now so that it isn't a problem in the future. Also, on the SAT's, you should try to score well above 600, if not 700 to make yourself stand out to admissions officials (I know it's daunting; I only got a 560 in math). Take the SAT II's in Chemistry and Biology as well, and if you need a third, Mathematics II. In those subjects, you should be scoring in a very high 600's (like 680 at least), or the 700's if you hope to become a doctor.

Yes, it is difficult to become a doctor, but it can be done. You will need to do your best to keep your grades up, study hard, and take chemistry, biology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, math. You will continue to study these sciences in college, and after you earn your bachelor's degree (4 yrs. full time), you can apply to med school. It is extremely competitive, and you will need three letters (minimum) of recommendation added to your application. I recommend you meet with a career counselor when in college to discuss your career/academic options. Best wishes.
