You're probably going to need at least a 3.6, plus amazing scores on all standardized tests (SATs, ACTs, etc), participation in extracurricular activities (a sport, National Honor Society, a language club, etc), volunteer activities of all sorts, plus any interesting experiences you come across (study abroad programs, mission trips w/ a church, marching band trips, etc). You said you go to a prep school, so these sorts of things should be easy to come across. Just get involved, and don't give up or get discouraged - as long as you are trying your hardest, you should do just fine.

3.6-3.9 for most competitive schools. You can check out this link if you have an idea of which university you would like to attend and how selective they are.

maximum regulation faculties use your college GPA and LSAT scores mutually to return to a decision the place to rank you with the different applicants. Your perfect guess could be to touch the college you like to attend and ask. additionally, including extracurricular events will help your resume and could placed you earlier than different scholars with the comparable academic tiers. You do could have a Bachelor degree in something in the previous you will get into regulation college

Unlike the others who answered your question, a 3.0 is very good and is acceptable to most colleges for admission. But since you are a sophomore, you have more than enough time to get your gpa up to a 3.5. So just relax and do your best, colleges will see that you are serious about your academic success. Just enjoy your last 3 years of high school and the free education. Becuz when you hit college it's a whole new ball game.

It's combination of more than one number. Class ranking, extr-circular actives Anything above 3 most likely will put you on look closer at list Depends on college and others applying. Not sue if you will be in the baby bust era or not, but sure you will be in better buyers market than baby boomers. Obvious the higher GPA the better

Depends on the college.

Some colleges don't look at GPA but rather look at SAT 2 scores or how many extracurricular activities you did as well as community service and test scores.

Different colleges look at different aspects of your both academic and social life. You should research on it yourself for the school you desire to attend.

Try to at least get a 3.5 or higher before your Senior year. A 3.14 GPA is still pretty good but it can be a little better. A 3.35 GPA at my high school was considered a B+ average. Of course if your school has a reputation of being "hard", then your GPA may be considered as good as someone who graduated from a "easy" school with a 3.5 GPA. But yeah, try to get as many A's and B's as you can, and you should be fine.

you can get into almost any shcool with that gpa, or just start off at a junior college and go from there.

On a 4.0 scale, you'll want to try and get it up to 3.5 or higher. Also, you'll want 27 or higher on your ACT's. Most colleges have either an ACT standard they have set themselves, or they go by the state average.

Good Luck!
