Installation Problems III?

2006-08-28 4:23 pm
I installed 2 Operation System in the same partition before. But now, I have been followed the steps right click on my computer > go to Advance tab > go click setting on Startup and Recovery section > click edit on system start up section...deleted 1 of them and will not ask me to choose either 1 or 2 OS when start up my workstation.
However, both of the old windows and user folders still in “C” and couldn’t delete even start with the save mode and login as an Administrator.

What can i do? Please advice. Thanks!

Actually, your Masterboot recognizes that there are multiple OS's but there aren't any entries for the OS to show-up (which you deleted by accident). I am afraid, you need to re-isntall that OS once again on the exact same location as you did before.

Or see if Aravind's suggestion above works

make this or change this as your boot.ini file

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Media Center Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows"
