ok i got it in april. and it doesnt hurt really anymore. the surface on the front and back isnt completely flat but theres only a small bump around the holes. my step sis told me it was just skin that grew up around the earring that was in it after i got it peirced. but also, when i push the back foward, there is white puss that comes out. it looks like popping a zit. the puss is thick. and i got my piercing done at claires so it was professional.

i still have alot of the cleaning stuff left. shoulf i start cleaning it again?

I got mine in April, too. I kept having the white stuff up through about last month, but it's stopped now. just keep using the cleaner and your's will stop as well. :D

Clean it with Bactine. And try not to get a piercing done at Claires. I wouldn't want a 17 year old coming at me with that piercing gun! I've had my piercing for 5 years and it still gets sore if I dont clean it daily with Bactine. Put it in a little empty spray bottle like from Target, just spray it and rotate the earring. Next time, go to a peircing/tattoo shop.

Clair's is not a professional piercing place, they will let anyone do it. You should pull it out, let it heal and go to a tattoo/piercing shop, they are well trained and state certified. If you choose to keep it clean it with soap, or liquid anti-bacterial Dial. Keep hair spray shampoo and conditioner out of it, and keep your dirty little hands off of it.:) Look up www.bmezine.com look at FAQ

I got mine pierced in January and its still healing. The white puss isn't suposed to be coming out. Go back to claire's and ask them what is going wrong.

Getting it done at Claire's isn't considered professional, but that doesn't mean they can't do a decent job.

Cartilage piercings can be slow to heal, and sometimes easy to irritate. I kept the original (piercing) earring in mine for a LONG time. I only buy earrings for that hole, at tattoo/piercing shops to make sure I get a good quality metal (many cheap earrings will have nickel in them, and a lot of people are allergic to that).

Keep it clean as you mentioned...watch out for getting hairspray or hair products on it for a while...see if it gets better...if there's no change, or it gets worse, you may want to see a doc about it (antibiotics if there is an infection) or take it out, let it heal, and have it redone at some point.

Claires so its professional...I think not. But anyways. I got mine done at Claires as well and it got infected even though I cleaned it twice a day. I eventually had to take it out after a year and it hadnt closed up yet. But my ear does still have a bump there, so I am fairly sure that is normal..the pus however is not. I would definetly begin cleaining it again and make sure to remove the earring when you clean it so it really can get inside. And clean the post as well. Make sure to really cleanse your hands before touching the piercing, or even better yet, wear those disposable latex gloves. Good luck with everything! I know how irritating it can be sometimes.

Real easy to take care of this problem as it also happened to me when I got my piercing. Get some aspirin (has to be aspirin and can be generic) make it into a paste...kinda like play-doh or something and put it on before bed, letting it dry first of course. Try it for about one week.

be careful, keep it clean. i got mine done at claire's as well and ended up have to have an ER Dr. remove it that very same nite not a good thing. would like to have mine done again but i'm scared to. that was one bad nite

cartilage piercing is tricky,on some people it works on others, the skin bubbles up around the pierce.mine swoll so bad the dr had to cut them off with wire cutters !!!!clean with disinfectant, but if it keeps bubbling and swelling,u might want 2 c a dr.if u get a dark spot near the pierce, see a dr immediately,it means the cartilage tissue is dying-that can happen,so be aware.

Cartilage takes a long time to heal and is really sensative. Keep cleaning it. I had mine done & it gets that way if I don't clean it, especially when my hair product gets in it. Keep it clean and it should be fine! I've also found that taking it out for a night or two helps it heal better, and putting Neosporin on the earring before I put it back in keeps it healthier.
