Tie beer cans to your car, write JUST DIVORCED on the windows, and drive around throwing rice out your window (or any of her possesions that may be left)
On that very day I went with friends to a shooting range!! It got alot out of my system. I would like to do it again on the anniversary. But thats just me.. anything you would do to that will symbolizes closure for you will work.
Well....my divorce (being final) and my birthday were the same day....my friends and co-workers got me a cake, flowers, and cards....then after work, we went out and PARTIED!!!!!
When I divorced my husband, my family took me out to eat and we celebrated like it was my birthday or something. Everyone was telling me congratulations. Everyone was relieved that I had finally gotten rid of my dead weight of a husband. I now wish that I had gone out with some friends and just celebrated being single and at peace again. But, I am thankful that my family was there for me. Do whatever you have wanted to do for a while but didn't because you were married.
Grab some good chums and go out for a nice meal. Blow up some balloons and have a nice celebration or divorce party. Hey if you and your ex still get along maybe you could even invite them along to help with the celebration. Make it a joyful time rather than a time to feel sorry for yourself. Best of luck with your celebration.
