You gotta to answer that questions.
What do you consider a martial arts? If you think it is some kung fu guy jumping around, make weird noise, and dance and punch air or group of moron stand in row and punch air while pause for next command like as if in real fight someone will stand perfectly still in front of them. Then the answer is no.
If you consider it as a method of hands to hands combat to beat someone else then Kickboxing DEFINITELY is martial arts.
The reason most "martial artist" try to deny that Muay Thai, kickboxing, wrestling, or boxing is martial arts is because they do something like karate, Tae Kwon Don, Wing Chu, etc... So they get intimdated when they see two guys go after eachother full contact. So they have to convince themselve that those guys are a bunch of cavemen bashing away at eachother and not a martial artists. However they would lose if they step in ring with one of those guys.
Personally I consider martial arts as something that you put your body to use to fight against another human. I consider all Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, and other such style a dancing, not a martial arts.
