How do I keep my laptop from heating up this summer?

This will certainly make you feel better..

I have an acer travel-mate 2.2ghz Pentium 4 Intel and man it gets so hot beneath that when I put my hand on it beneath I can't hold it there that's how hot it gets..

There was the time where I used to seriously worry about it but then I figured out that it's just the way it is.. the cooling fan runs faster when it detects the main board over heat..

So to answer your question... Don't worry, it's just the way they are built, because they are so compact they tend to heat like this.

Nothing is going to happen to your laptop when it heats up, notice when you are over working it like downloading heaps and using other app's at the same time the fan kicks in at a higher Pace, so it doesn't over heat.. these things were meant to with hold this much heat my yahoo friend..

Don't let it get to you as it drove me mad at one stage..

just make sure none of the vents are blocked and trust me there is no need to raise it off the table..

It will be perfectly okay

You may buy a notebook cooling fan and it will be helpful to reduce heat.

u can buy a cooling system 4 laptop, some models come with 5 ports usb hub. it's cheaper now. less than $50.

if you want to use it out side use it in the shade

try a cooling pad (it will work much better than letting it swim)
