Why do so many people attack President Bush?

2006-06-22 8:57 am
Doesn't anyone have any respect for the OFFICE of the President? How do you think it looks to people in other countries when Americans openly bash their own president? What about Clinton who was too busy getting is knob sucked to prevent terrorists from targeting the US during the 90's? Does anyone take the time to consider all the factors and issues or do people just think its "cool" to make fun of the President? If your so damn smart, how come you're not President?

Bush's enemies hide behind freedom of speech to bash him. No, they dont respect anything, including themselves. They dont have any better ides or plans than Bush, but they are quick to criticize. I will never vote Democrat again unless they stop their attacking and start thinking. As a voter I dont want to hear what they are saying now, I want ideas, vision, and a plan that makes sense. Until then, I hope they continue to lose every election.

I agree 100%. People need to find something to do other than getting on Bush's case. He's got a hard job to do.

There is no need to compare the current President to any before him. His double-standard, imperialistic, war-mongering, cronyism stands alone, and speaks volumes for itself. It is because I, and many others, do respect the office of the President that we speak our minds about the inept machinations of the current office-holder. It is our Democratic way of doing things that enables us to do so.

If that weren't enough, then the fact that my great-great-grandfather and his brother fought in the Civil War; that my great-great uncle fought both in the Spanish-American War and WWI; that my late uncle fought in WWI; that my other late uncle died in Korea, while another sister (my mother), brother, and brother-in-law (my father) served there as well; that my uncle fought in Vietnam and during the Cold War; that my sister and nephew each served during Desert Storm, and that my nephew just returned from Operation Iraqi Freedom; and scores more relatives served during those and other insurrections--their service to this country preserves my right to speak my mind--good, bad, or indifferent.

No. It's not "cool" at all to make fun of the President. If the lackluster, incompetent job the current office-holder was doing were not so critical, it would almost be laughable, but I take this country far too seriously to laugh. Too many lives are at stake, particularly those of our soldiers in Iraq, and our citizens abroad.

The Office of the President will outlive George W. Bush. Those who make fun, are making fun of the man--not the office. Also, it matters very little what other people in other countries think of our citizens' making their voices heard about our current President. We are exercising our rights, as citizens. The world knows that we are a democracy, where you don't get shot for sharing your views, or having open discussion about the country's state of affairs. (I think it's the President, who has confused it for a dictatorship.)

Anyway, this country is still among the best in the world--flaws and all. Others are still too busy trying to come into this country, whether to obtain an education, conduct business, or to attain citizenship, to notice that we are not all rallying behind George Bush in harmonious union! One man will not destroy all this country stands for, although it sure looks as if he's trying. I believe that when history assesses George W. Bush's presidency, it will make some of our previously designated "Worst US Presidents in History" look downright heroic, in comparison.

Well his ratings is good thats why ?
People pull sling-shots at him because some one have self lack of knowledge with what went wrong out there on planet earth?
Were just by-standers and not helping him to solve the problems out there on planet earth.
So why not do something good for the good of mankind on planet earth?

1. This is a fact of life in any democratic country. There's always a party in power and an opposition party, and the opposition party and their supporters make a point of attacking the people in power.

2. Bush is an exceptionally controversial figure because his views on matters are very strong and he can be quite stubborn. His supporters applaud him for being upright but his opponents think he is quite a (fill in word of choice here).

3. Timing: Bush has the bad luck to be president during these times of crisis... and he also has an (unwitting) penchant to turn small crises into larger crises.

4. Finally, as Ma Ying-jeou, the chairmain of the KMT (Taiwan's opposition party) said yesterday: "Ever since ancient times, the responsibility for a country's troubles and disasters has rested on the leader. As the figurehead of his country, the leader must bear this duty and responsibility."

So, it's not entirely Mr Bush's fault, but also quite a matter of circumstance.

As for how it looks to other countries, people in other countries are either:
1. Used to it, because they also bash their presidents and prime ministers, or
2. Happy, because they hate Mr Bush even more than the Americans do.

Hope I answered your question.

(By the way, I agree with you on the gas prices. You know that gas prices in the US are still amongst the lowest in the world, yes?)

I 've respect for the OFFICE of the President of USA. I cant be the President coz' only one of my parents is American Born. And Why attack Bush --- Agreed that he went on over Afghanistan after Sept 11...which was quite right. But, Why the heck did he go to Iraq even after so many protests and UN saying he should'nt, If he is a people's President..Why did'nt he listen to the people? Now look where he has taken our Country to.. Everyone around the World hates US's policy of of showing aggression against other nations just coz' its a Super Power... and worst of all He LIED to our people to go to war talking about WMD's. Why do you think our soldiers are sacrificed even after Saddam is taken into custody? He is making FUN of himself by his decisions.. Now going after Iran n N. Korea..he is undoubtedly.. The WORST President ever in the History of United States

Thats true there are some people who see other people getting angry with bush just because other people are doing it. Its sad that our country has lost a lot of its patriotism because we take so many things for granted. Look at any past disastor that has happened to the US which made us feel threatened and you will see that many americans unified and supported each other. Its times like those that make us realise how fortunate we are to live in a place where you can say what you want about the government (except in public areas like libraries) you can protest things and vote for stuff.America is a great place its just that a lot of people are so spoiled and selfish they don't care about anything unless it affects how much money they have,if it cancels their "reality" television show, or it has to do with a stupid trend. We are an embarassment.

BECAUSE HE IS SUCH AN EASY TARGET TO PUT DOWN. IF YOU WERE TO HAVE A BATTLE OF WITS WITH HIM IT WOULD BE LIKE FIGHTING AN UN-ARMED MAN. HE IS A TOTAL IDIOT. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE YOUNG REPUBLICANS.

I would never be president because I have enough sense to know that I do not have the ability to do the job. People attack Bush because they are frustrated. He's the leader of our country, and he's making us look bad as a nation. He is arrogant and stupid- a dangerous combination. Everything he does encourages other nations to hate us. And we still have the freedom of speech accorded to us by the constitution so we can say what we think. (of course now we can be wiretapped, arrested and detained without being charged, invaded by police without them even needing to knock... makes you wonder how long our free speech will last if this trend continues.)

I'm not president because I don't have enough money. And YOU...Talk about pres. bashing while you are dissing Clinton.....Who by the way...Was the only US pres. to get head.{!!!!} Yes, it is ridiculous....but you answered your own question.
2006-06-22 4:05 pm
Because it's easier to blame the powers that be for your ails. This is especially true when unpopular events are taking place (such as the current war). Take gas prices. Gas prices are high because of the way the market works...supply is low, demand is high -so therefore, prices go up. Rather than realize this, people just like to look at those in charge and ask, "I don't like this. Why don't you do something about this?", even though the ones asked might not be able to do much about it. Always has happened, and always will, no matter who is running things.
2006-06-22 4:05 pm
because he attack other country.
2006-06-22 4:05 pm
I'm not president because I dont have the money. Bush has spent more money in his administration than all the other presidential administrations combined. He rigged the voting. He has either ignored or broken more than 150 statutes, he has made us a target by treating the rest of the world like crap. I'd say peeps have the right to be mad at him. I'm pretty sure the only thing that has kept him from being killed or impeached is that then we would be stuck with Cheney and NO ONE wants THAT.

I think the office of the president wasn't protected when Clinton was attacked. Were you against that? Or do you like Ken Starr? And if you recall correctly the president was Bush when we were attacked, and he was reading to children when it happened. It was a little interesting that he didn't immediately stop and try to figure out what was going on though... And so many people attack the president because he paints big targets on himself everyday. Not only can he not manage to give a simple speech, those speeches bring about the deaths of our soldiers, innocent civilian casualties, the environment and make other countries hate us. It isn't us Americans who appose Bush that make other countries hate us and laugh at us. It is Bush himself!

I have great respect for the OFFICE... it's just the F*****' jerk they put IN it, that I have no respect for. And I've never boasted a Mensa IQ either. So lose the 'tude.
2006-06-22 4:03 pm
the only reason people dont like presidents..is because they're selfish...if the presidents do somthing they dont like...they'll hate them..they dont think of the better of the US...I know..other countries praise they're leaders..i mean.,,,Most people dont even listen to president bush's speaches...just because he's the president they hate him... .lame people
2006-06-22 4:00 pm

Good points. The Athenians had the same problem 2000 yrs ago. The price of democracy I guess...

Read the Declaration of Indendence to answer your question.
2006-06-22 4:03 pm
I am smart and i am not President because i am not american ok?

You really need to consider how ignorant you sound.

I bet you whine about gas prices too...

The reason WHY i don't like BUSH is because he is unable to do his job to an acceptable level of competence or in the interest of the American public.

When another "Terrorist" attack happens and martial law is declared..i bet you will be the first one whining about that too.
2006-06-22 4:01 pm
they hate him becuase of the stupid decisions he has made
