What did Jesus expect from his disciples?

The word disciple means one that is disciplined. Jesus expects His disciples to be disciplined in His WORD. Apostle means one sent forth...One that has been disciplined in The WORD and examples Jesus set forth and can go out to the world and teach the gospel, The GOOD NEWS of The WORD.

To do what he (Jesus) did and more. After he arose, he sent the Holy Spirit here for the disciples and us. We have untapped power through the spirit.

He wanted them to
1.Love, feed, and grow the church.
2. To spread the word of God and salvation.
And 3. To teach Love thy neighbor with their actions more than words.

He expected them to learn his techings not manupulate them
He told them he was a Prophet NOT son of god
He told them he will return to earth but follow islam

JESUS EXPECTED HIS DISCIPLES TO BE CLEVER AS THE SERPENTS OF THE ROCKS AND BE AS MEEK AS THE DOVES
OF AIR AND TO PRAY ALWAYS AND PREACH THE GOOD NEWS
THAT THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NEAR.

To understand,we must know why Jesus came to Earth.To fulfill God's love for Humanity who gave His Only Son to die so that we may live eternally with Him.So Jesus expected/expects his disciples to accept this tremendous gift that we surely do not merit, by loving God and others around us.

I'm not real sure if he "expected" anything. His point was to teach them. To help free them from the oppression that the church (by church I mean established religion) and the political structure were forcing upon his people. Jesus' true message was that salvation is found not from doing what is told of you by the authorities, but rather following the bible of your soul that was given to you by God.

To be human and to love

Faith in Him and His teachings, share His word with the people of the world, help out a fellow person and help to establish more churches.

But we can't be sure, because the Bible doesn't really say what Jesus expected from the disciples.

Then again, it might. I haven't studied the Bible enough to know for sure.

Well...disciple means......One who embraces and assists in spreading the teachings of another. That's precisely what he expected them to do.

He wanted to teach them. He may have had expectations that they would, in turn, teach others. What do Rabbis expect from their congregations?

To spread his gospel....

to follow him and aid him in spreading the words of God. to provide support and love for the son of God.

to not waist their lifetime thinking about him and what he said. go on with their lives and live as a good person and help eachother.

to be a true follower of him

to do what he said when he said it.
