Investigate, analyze, and determine the extent of insurance company's liability concerning personal, casualty, or property loss or damages, and attempt to effect settlement with claimants. Correspond with or interview medical specialists, agents, witnesses, or claimants to compile information. Calculate benefit payments and approve payment of claims within a certain monetary limit
1.Investigates and assesses damage to property.
2.Collects evidence to support contested claims in court.
3.Communicates with former associates to verify employment record and to obtain background information regarding persons or businesses applying for credit.
4.Prepares report of findings of investigation.
5.Obtains credit information from banks and other credit services.
6.Refers questionable claims to investigator or claims adjuster for investigation or settlement.
7.Examines claims form and other records to determine insurance coverage.
8.Interviews or corresponds with claimant and witnesses, consults police and hospital records, and inspects property damage to determine extent of liability.
9.Analyzes information gathered by investigation and reports findings and recommendations.
10.Examines titles to property to determine validity and acts as company agent in transactions with property owners.
11.Negotiates claim settlements and recommends litigation when settlement cannot be negotiated.
12.Interviews or corresponds with agents and claimants to correct errors or omissions and to investigate questionable entries.
