What is DNA or gene therapy?

If all DNA in a human body is the same, how could you ever fix someone's genetic problems?
更新1:

I mean, even if you could replace the diseased part with a good part, how do you then alter every cell in the human body (or even only organ) to make it work?

Generally the idea is that the DNA does not necessarily have to be introduced into every cell of the human body to cure a disease because not every cell in the body may be affected by the disease.

Currently the main idea is using viruses which are made harmless to humans. Viruses can insert DNA into their host. They can infect either only a certain cell type or a wide variety.

Read up more detail about viruses used and non-viral options using the link provided or do further research using a search engine.

If it is a genetically inheritable disease I assume that the best option is if there is a very high risk for the children to have a genetic disease they would try to manipulate the DNA in a fertilized egg, so probably techniques from in-vitro fertilization would be used. Don't know if that works yet, but I am sure there is a website out there which explains that.

If you're interested in the topic, I suggest watching the movie Gattaca. It doesn't really say anything about the actual process but the whole movie is based around it.

Everybody's DNA is completely different, though it is made up of similar building blocks. Those four building blocks are adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine. These four bases occur in different sequences throughout our genome, and in different sequences from person to person. You may have brown eyes, whereas I have green eyes. Our gene for eye color is located in the exact same place of the exact same chromosome, but, our sequence of those building blocks is entirely different, causing the difference in eye color.

For example, when the entire human genome is mapped out, scientists will be able to locate the gene that causes multiple sclerosis in our DNA. With gene therapy, they could take the sequence of a "diseased" cell, and mutate it, or alter it, to become the sequence of a "healthy" cell.

You would continue to inject the "healthy" cells into the body. Those cells would cotinue to reproduce and multiply, until it has overtaken the "diseased" ones.

DNA is Deoxyribonucleic acid; the chemical inside the nucleus of a cell that carries the genetic instructions for making living organisms.

And a Gene Therapy is a new type of treatment in which defective genes are replaced with normal ones

DNA= Deoxyribonucliecacid, its the atom, and you can fix the genetic problem, but very rare to, just docotr can help that
