does alias or yahoo id {real name} appear when someone adds you to their buddy list?

for example - i agree to let someone add me while i am using the name dede. once added will they see that my real name is blythe? also, does the buddy see that you are online using another alias even if you appear invisible. i.e. i add buddy using say, blythe and then i use the name dede - does the person who added me see that i am also using the name dede.
